DIY MoonShoes

In collaboration with Spanish performance artist Alicia Framis, United Nude has come up with a shoe for the “Moon Life” project, based on the premise that humans will one day live in outer-space. The carbon-fiber shoe comes flat, packed with assembly instructions and interchangeable uppers that you can switch out for a custom look. Source

I love “the build your own shoe” idea. I too am a firm believer in consumer participation. But what worries me more than the living on the moon, is the non-existent support for my non-existent arch. If you’re like me and have no arch to speak of then here is a little tip for ya. On arrival to the venue, find a seat and remain in it the entire night. These shoes are NOT made for walking.

Design your very own Nikes

…In the virtual world at least. While going through some of my sketches I came across some printouts of some designs I’d made using templates downloaded from pigmag.com.  For the Photoshop illiterate they have provided a step by step tutorial making it very user-friendly. You get to choose from 6 different styles: Air Max 95, Air Max 87, Dunk Low, Air Force 1 High, Waffle Racer B, Air Force 1 Low. So if you’re a sneaker-freaker and you’re handy with Photoshop then this could a great way to spend a dateless Saturday night.

Clear Heels…not just for strippers

Not just for strippers

Introducing ‘Within’

Demin 'Within'

This collection is special to me because it is my first attempt at a technical drawing. My personal preference does veer more towards hand drawn techniques but it is always nice to see something that resembles the real thing (perceptively). And I understand it’s also useful when communicating instructions to manufacturers.
